Thunder Travel Hockey will be holding Try Outs for the 2008 Travel season on December 16th at the DeLand YMCA. These try outs are for the 12U team and the 14U team.
The 12U try out will be from 5:00-6:30 PM
The 14U try out will be from 6:30-8:00PM
Please arrive early enough to get changed and registered and be able to skate promptly at the start of your try out. The try out will include skill drills, defensive and offensive team drills and a 20-30 minute scrimmage depending on the available time.
As everyone knows this is a competitive tryout. The hardest part about having a tryout is there are more skaters than positions available on the roster. We will select up to 12 skaters and 2 goalies on each roster. As coaches, we have a responsibility to the entire team and all of the families involved to select those players the coaches feel make the best team.
The costs involved for playing with the Thunder in 2008 will include 2 jerseys @ $60.00 per jersey if you don’t already have a jersey. All tournament fees will be split equally by the players attending the tournament. Thunder pants are available for $65.00. They are optional.
The Thunder will be attending ASR, Breakaway Championships and ECHO tournaments in 2008. We will be attending ECHO Nationals as well. There are 10 tournaments on the calendar for 2008. Any additional events will be a case by case decision. Please study The 2008 Tournament Calendar and be prepared to discuss any conflicts your family may have.
